 The trailhead for the Waimano Ridge Trail |
 The trailhead is by a guard shack. You park on the left as you approach it, nose in from the road on a hard packed shoulder. |

 It splits into lower and upper segments near the beginning. The lower trail descends into the valley to the stream, then joins the upper after about a mile. |
 Worst part of this trail is the first half-mile. You walk by a fence that borders the state mental hospital. |
 It was wet, but firm. Not too slippery. |
 Beautiful vistas appeared at tree breaks. |
