C/2nd Lt Bussan, C/Col Gabriel and I flew
to Lihue, Kauai yesterday to check out the new cadet element of the
Kauai Squadron (Hawaii Wing Squadron of the Year, 2005!) after a
gracious invitation from Barbara Fontana and Maj. Michael Curtis.
We met with some great cadets and talked about CAP. C/Col Gabriel
spoke about the USAF Academy and what the honor code means. Cadet
Laura Hudson is on the fast track to entry into the class of
2010, and we have little doubt that she's going to do it after meeting
her last night!
Before the meeting, Maj. Curtis treated all three of us to a wonderful dinner at Hamura's Saimin. It was absolutely ono. I got the Special and couldn't stop eating. The Lilikoi Pie was brok da mout delectable.
